Questions, answered plainly
Local-first without the fine-print fog.
The useful distinction is simple: your recording masters and local renders remain yours. Connected rooms, invitations, transfer, and optional services use the network when the job requires it.
Try a local recording
01Do I need an account to record?+
You can choose a folder and start a local recording without signing in. The private Podcast HQ, public booking management, remote guest rooms, and connected services still need online coordination and may require an account.
02Do guests need to install an app?+
No. Guests join from a private link in a modern browser. Camera capability, available device storage, and maximum resolution still depend on their hardware.
03What happens if somebody's connection gets rough?+
The conversation preview can stutter, but each participant's ISO master is recorded on their own device. Completed chunks can transfer during the call, and the post-call inspector shows what is still arriving.
04Can I run more than one podcast?+
Yes. Podcast HQ gives each show its own recordings, calendar, guest history, episodes, availability, and booking page. Direct invites and calendar-ready guest links live beside the schedule.
05Do live layouts and effects damage the masters?+
The live program can use themes, graphics, framing, background removal, and effects while the raw local camera remains available. Some effects can also be replayed in the Editor; the untouched source is the safety net.
06What exactly uses the internet?+
Remote calls, room state, guest invitations, progressive peer transfer, publishing, and optional cloud features use the network. Local recording, recovery, editing, and rendering are designed around folders on your computer.
07Can I use the files in another editor?+
Yes. Separate media tracks are the point: use the built-in Editor and local render path, or take the masters into another production workflow.
08Can I buy the $149 license now?+
Not yet. The app is in free early access and this page does not represent a working checkout or paid entitlement. The proposed price makes the intended ownership model concrete while the product is still being finished.
